I just installed my bell expressvu dish hd pvr with the switch 44. I am getting a message that one of the connections to my switch is incorrect. I have four cables coming from the dish to the sw44 (from the two LNBF's) and two coax cables going from the switch to inside the house. One connected to the power inserter, than to the receiver and the other straight to the receiver. I followed the wiring diagram.is there something I am missing? When i run the check i get the message that connections to the switch are incorrect. Hello, Yesterday I got a Bell Expressvu HD 9241 Reciever 'Dual Tuner' hooked up and all is running good,They installed a 'Powered SW44 switch' I also have a Bell 5900 PVR 'single tuner' in the bedroom, I should be using 3 connections right?
I have a 4th line running in and it was connected to the SW44 switch also but I can't figure out which one it is because all four run behind a huge TV which I can't move. How can I find the cable that is not used?? I thought I would disconnect one at a time until I found the one that didn't effect the other 2 receivers, but no matter which one I disconnect 1 or both receivers don't work.
Its like all 4 cables are been used Any ideas?? Port #1 on the output of the SW44 will feed towards a power Inserter, so that must be connected at all times. The norm is to use Ports #1 & 2 for the Dual Tuner HD PVR. I would try again, with the 9241 on the Signal strength screen, MENU, 6, 1, 1 and then have it display Tuner #2. Remove Port 2, you should loose signal, the 5900 should still be OK.
Then repeat with the 5900. Better yet have 1 person at each TV. There should be no logical reason why all 4 lines could feed the 3 Tuners you have. Thinking about it a little more, it might just be that the Installer used Port 1 for JUST the Power Inserter, in which case you will need to get behind the TV to check.
